A. Lee Smith, PhD
Dr. Lee Smith is the dean of Northcentral University’s School of Business and Technology Management. The School of Business and Technology Management was founded in 1997 Prior to being named dean in 2010, Dr. Smith was the dean of the College of Business and the Jack Welch Management Institute at Chancellor University (2009 to 2010).
In his role as Dean of the School of Business and Technology Management, Dr. Smith is responsible for oversight of all academics in the School of Business and Technology Management for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies. This includes hiring professors and adjunct faculty as well as maintaining the school’s accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
In addition to academic leadership roles in higher education, Dr. Smith has held leadership roles with AAA Insurance (2006 to 2009) and State Farm Insurance (1980 to 2006). He has also taught at Midstate College, Saint Leo University, The Union Institute and the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Smith has spoken at a number of conferences, including the Arizona African American Legislative Conference (2011), and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, IACBE (2010). Dr Smith is also the author of “Just Give Me the Damn Job! How to Get Hired After the First Interview” (2011).
Dr. Smith completed his Ph.D. at Northcentral University in 2003. His dissertation addressed An Ethnographic Study of the Relevance of Social Desirability Bias on the Social Power Scale that Focuses on Motivational Stimulus in the Workplace. He graduated from Lake Erie College in 1985 with a Master of Business Administration and completed his Bachelor of Science in Marketing at Dyke College in 1980.
