Northcentral’s Dr. Efosa Osayamwen featured in GSN: Government Security News

Guest Columnist in the January 2010 issue of GSN: Government Security News, Dr. Efosa Osayamwen, focused his topic on trends & challenges in educating information assurance graduates.

Dr. Osayamwen starts out by saying, "The importance of information assurance cannot be overemphasized in this global economy, where the need for individual countries to secure network and data infrastructures continues to be evident. The requirement for computer security knowledge continues to skyrocket as new techniques and technologies are developed, which in turn weaken the existing protections of the systems and network perimeters.

To address these issues, colleges and universities have been developing programs based on thorough research conducted to evaluate the training that will be valuable to providing skilled employees to corporations and government. Typical computer security programs include cyber forensics, cyber terrorism, risk management, corporate computer network security, information assurance and auditing information security, to name a few.”
